Lifting lockdown

As the country takes the first steps towards getting everyone back to work, many of our transport operating customers are asking how we can help.  Please do get in touch to talk about any software solutions that you may need to put in place.

At the moment we are working on :

- a customer portal web page to allow travellers quickly and easily to retrieve information from GoldSTAR and request a new ticket.

This will allow the TOC concerned to create the ticket in advance and either send it to the customer ahead of their travel, or have it waiting for collection at the station.  The aim is to reduce queues and time the customer needs to spend in a ticket office.

- using emailing capabilities to target customers who have had their season tickets refunded.

Where services are being reintroduced on some routes more quickly than others, being able to provide targetted communications to your long-standing customers will reduce fear and frustration, and help them know what to expect when they start to use the services again.

- producing reports and statistics to support management decisions on how and where to reintroduce services.

Knowing how many regular travellers were using a route prior to lockdown, what type and class of traveller, and how many are still in possession of a valid ticket, can all help to confirm where to bring in changes first.

For those of our customers who are still helping their customers apply for and receive refunds for their season tickets, we have released an update to TOM interfaces to allow refunds to be made on expired tickets up to 56 days after their expiry date.

We also provide bi-directional interfaces that can be used by your web form (if you're allowing applications on line) to confirm that the application being made is valid, and that the customer did buy their ticket from you, as well as keeping a record of the pending refund, and refunds paid, to ensure that a refund is not paid again through different channels. We can provide a web form for refund applications, too.

More information on our own measures for getting back to work can be found on our Coronavirus page.
