Some customers are asking us to stop the gender field being mandatory when you create a new customer record in GoldSTAR. As part of the original design, this field was set automatically when some titles were chosen (for example Mr or Mrs). Making the field optional would mean that staff entering new customer records would need to be aware of the need to set the gender if you do use it. In the many years since the first release of GoldSTAR, gender identities have become more open and fluid, and we recognise it's time to change. Because our design has always been driven by you, we want your opinion. 

Should gender be removed from the customer record altogether ? 

Should it be made optional ?  If we keep it, what options would you like to see ?
